Pupils Struck by Lightning in Kisoro

A 16-year-old pupil at Kahumure Primary School in Bukimbiri Sub County, Kisoro District died instantly and five others were admitted in critical condition after being struck by lightning. The deceased is identified as Night Pricilla, a primary six pupil and daughter to Evalist Kafuku, a resident of Kyogo Village, Bukimbiri Sub County in Kisoro District. The injured are; Angel Kyarisiima,  Anocianta Nuwamanya, Mathias Turinawe and Illuminate Kyarisiima, all P7 seven pupils and Florida Ninsiima, a  primary four pupil. Rukiga teachers protest six months arrears nonpayment

Over 70 primary teachers in Rukiga District are protesting government’s failure to pay them their salaries for the last six months. The teachers, who claim that they last received salaries in August 2017, say they are planning to lay down their tools, until their salary arrears are deposited onto their accounts.
