M7 blames decline of education to poor management

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has attributed the decline in quality of education in the country to ineffective management of education institutions.

The president’s observation was contained in a speech read for him by the Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Hon. Ephraim during Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Kigezi College Butobere in Kabale Municipality, yesterday.

Museveni noted that despite government investing in Universal Primary and Secondary Education, education standards have not improved due to poor management.

Museveni also warned the youth against HIV/AIDs scourge saying that a free diseases generation fosters development. He also contributed 50 million shillings towards rehabilitation of the school.

The State Minister of finance for planning Hon David Bahati who represented the Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. Janet Kataha Museveni said that ministry of finance is in the process of acquiring a loan to have old schools rehabilitated including, Kigezi College Butobere.
