Kabale Parliamentary candidates demand level playing field ahead of 2026 campaigns

Parliamentary candidates in Kabale District have called upon the government and security forces to provide a level playing field for all political players throughout the upcoming political campaigns, beginning November 10, to ensure violence-free elections in 2026.

The appeal was made today during a harmonization campaign program meeting held at the Kabale District Council Hall in Kabale municipality. The candidates, including the Kabale District Woman MP aspirant, Grace Akunda Bwesigye, the Kabale Municipality MP aspirant, Dan Nabaasa Musinguzi and the Ndorwa East MP aspirant, Alexander Kyokwijuka, stressed the need for a free, fair, and leveled playing field for all political actors to ensure peaceful polls.

The Kabale Deputy Resident District Commissioner, Michael Kyakashari, and the District Police Commander, Charles Okello, promised candidates that no one will disrupt the electoral process, warning that those planning to threaten the exercise, regardless of their political affiliation, would be dealt with.

Meanwhile, the Kabale District Returning Officer, Aisha Nansubuga, assured the candidates of a free and fair electoral process and urged them to strictly adhere to all election rules and regulations.
