The Kabale district Public Accounts Committee (PAC), has given the embattled former district assistant Engineer of roads, James Kiganda an ultimatum of up to 10th of this month, to given an accountability
of over 41million shillings of road fund.
The committee led by it the Chairperso, Didas Kanyesigye has since Tuesday this week been sitting at the Kabale Lukiiko Hall, handling accountability queries of some district officials.
Kiganda, who now the Rukiga District Engineer, is being queried for failing to account for 41.120.820 million shillings to was allocated to work on roads, when he was still working as an assistant engineer in charge of roads in Kabale district. The money was meant to work on Mutambi-Mparo road and Nyaruziba Nyakashebeya Kashambya road in Rukiga road, and Kasheregyenyi-Nyamabaare road in Kamuganguzi Sub county of Kabale district.
The committee Chairperson, Kanyesigye, says that Kiganda has been 10th October, to prepare proper defence, since the commission was not satisfied with the defence he gave.
