Meantime, the Rubanda west Member of Parliament, Eng Denis Sabiiti, has criticized four justices of the constitution for upholding the Constitutional Amendment Bill that lifted the cap on the presidential age.
Four of the five members of the Constitutional Court; Cheborion Barishaki, Elizabeth Musoke, Alphonse Owiny-Dollo and Remmy Kasule, upheld the amendment when they said that it did not contravene the Constitution; neither did it contravene parliament’s rules of procedure. Only Justice Kenneth Kakuru declared the process was flawed and urged that the amendment Act be purged from the Constitution.
Now, Sabiiti who also voted against the constitutional amendment, during a debate on the bill in December last year, lauded Justice Kenneth Kakuru, for being professional in his judgment, saying that the bill is intended to benefit one person President Yoweri Museveni.
