Heavy rains yesterday evening devastated property, houses, schools and gardens of crops in Kisoro district.
The most affected sub counties are; Nyarubuye , Nyarusiza , Muramba and Murora. The heavy downpour that lasted for at least two hours started at around 06:00pm. The Bufumbira South Legislator, Hon. Sam Bitangaro says that 56 houses were destroyed. Bitangaro also says that Kibugu and Ngunda Primary schools in Sooko parish Muramba Sub County were also ravaged by the heavy downpour.
He adds that gardens of Irish potatoes, beans and sweet potatoes were also washed away by floods. The Kisoro district Chairperson, Abel Bizimana says that the district is liaising with Uganda National Roads Authority-UNRA to make sure that all the blocked roads are opened.
