The Kabale Grade one magistrate, His worship Raphael Vueni, has today remanded seven people to Ndorwa government prison on charges of malicious damage.
The suspects are, John Muhumuza, Robert Habasa, Ben Bangirana, Joseph Kanyesigye, Callist Tumuramye, Aprinarious Tirwakunda and one only identified as Brian.
Prosecution told court today that on 31st March 2018, while at Kahunyira cell in Nyarurambi parish of Rwamucucu Sub County, Rukiga district, the seven suspects allegedly cut down two and a half acres of banana plantation belonging to one of the area, Frank Kyerere Besigye.
When the case was read for them, the suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges.
However, his worship Vueni remanded them to prison up to tomorrow, when they will appear before Chief magistrate’s court, because his case has no jurisdiction over case.
