Swedish national commits suicide in Mbarara-Uganda

Mbarara Police in South Western Uganda are investigating circumstances under, which a Swedish national committed suicide in a Guest House.

Woldehaimanot Mussie of Eritrean origin ended his life by hanging in his room at Sunset Guest House in Nyamityobora Lower in Nyamityobora Ward Kakoba Division of Mbarara Municipality yesterday evening.

Woldehaimanot Mussie in one of the notes asked the Guest House Managament to call the Swedish Embassy to inform them about “the mess.”

It was the cleaner who stumbled on the Swede’s lifeless body and informed management. Mbarara Police has opened a general inquiry file vide Mbarara GEF 21/2018.

The officer in charge of Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Department at Mbarara Police Station Bosco Mutabazi says the deceased left a note in the room apologizing for committing suicide in the lodge as well as informing a number of his fellow Eritrean nationals in Kansanga Kampala to come and pick his things.

The Rwizi Regional Police Spokesperson, Samson Kasasira, says they dispatched the deceased’s body to Mulago National Referral Hospital for postmortem.
