President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has asked Ugandans to embrace the available health care in the country, instead of seeking treatment abroad.
Museveni made the call today during the official opening of Mulago Specialized Women and Neonatal hospital at Mulago hill. According to Museveni, there is no need for Ugandans, to seek treatment abroad since government is doing everything in its power, to train and provide the necessary facilities such as the Women’s hospital.
Data from the Health Ministry shows that Uganda loses more than 200 billion Shillings on treatment in India to treat disease like heart defects and leukemia. The Executive Director Mulago National Referral Hospital Baterana Byarugaba, called on government to increase funding to the hospital.
