Political Insecurity Rises in Rubanda’s Kibuzigye Post-NRM Primaries
Residents of Kibuzigye Ward in Hamuhambo Town Council, Rubanda District have raised urgent concerns over what they describe as a disturbing rise in political insecurity, directly linked to the recently concluded National Resistance Movement (NRM) party parliamentary primaries.
The latest incident, which occurred last night, involved the alleged acid attack on the roof of a newly constructed house belonging to Francis Kibenda, the LC1 Chairperson of Rwabugabwa Cell in Kibuzigye Ward.
Locals, including Javira Mujuni, Austino Byarugaba, and Ignatius Biryomumaish, said that the perpetrators reportedly accused

This incident follows another attack last Saturday, where the house of Saturday Keresi, a known supporter of Minister Musasizi, was reportedly burnt down in Kabere cell, also within Hamuhambo Town Council. A billboard belonging to Minister Musasizi in Hamuhambo Town Council was also today found sprayed with acid.
Meanwhile, the Rubanda District Community Liaison Officer, James Kakuru has appealed to residents to remain calm, assuring them that the police are committed to doing everything possible to apprehend those responsible for the insecurity.
