Three Head Teachers in Kabale district to be demoted Over Poor 2025 PLE Performance.

The Acting Kabale District Chief Administrative Officer, Robert Mugabe, has announced that the head teachers of Kentare, Rubumba, and Musamba Primary Schools will be demoted to classroom teachers due to what he termed as shameful performance in the 2025 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).

At Rubumba Primary School, 13 out of 16 candidates scored Division U, while at Kentare Primary School in Kaharo Sub-County, 12 out of 14 candidates scored Division U. Mugabe described the district’s poor performance as embarrassing, noting that Kabale dropped from 4th position nationally in 2024 to 77th position in 2025.

The Kabale District Education Officer, Moses Tumwijukye Bwengye told our reporter that several head teachers and teachers have been summoned to appear before the District Rewards and Sanctions Committee to explain the poor performance in the 2025 PLE.
