10 Ndorwa prison inmates sit PLE Exams in Kabale

10 inmates from Ndorwa Government Prison in Kabale Municipality were among the 96 Primary Seven candidates who sat for their first two papers of the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) at Kikungiri Primary School.

The Spokesperson of Uganda Service Prisons Service, Frank Baine, told our reporter today that while 12 inmates were initially registered for the PLE examinations, one was later released after being found innocent, and another was transferred to Kabale remand home after being confirmed as a juvenile. The juvenile was among the candidates sitting for the exams.

Baine, noted that the 10 inmates, who are all male and between 22 and 33 years old, are part of the third cohort allowed to sit for exams at Ndorwa prison. The Head Teacher of Kikungiri Primary School, Phabis Twasingwire, expressed confidence that the 10 inmates will perform well, noting that the school has never registered a failure among the prisoners.
