Nyabushozi NRM primaries called off

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) primaries that had been slated for today, October 6,2020 in 25 villages of Nyabushozi Kiruhura district have abruptly been called off after one of the candidates Mr. Wilson Kajwengye pulled out of the race.
Kajwengye who is the petitioner, cited failure to adhere to the national party chairman Y K Museveni’s advice to have new electoral registrars among other issues and the other candidate, Mr. Christopher Bakashaba neither petitioned nor opted to participate in this election.
Kiruhura district NRM registrar, Mr. Agom David Andinda said the party electoral commission chairman, Dr. Tanga Odoi instructed the incumbent legislator Col (Rtd) Fred Mwesigye to report to party headquarters in Kampala with many anticipating that he will be handed the party flag as the NRM parliamentary flag-bearer for Nyabushozi county.
Meanwhile, there is heavy deployment in Bukanga Isingiro where 28 villages will repeat NRM primaries tomorrow.
