Congolese national lynched by an angry mob for slaughtering stolen animal.
The Police in Kisoro District are investigating circumstances under which a Congolese national was lynched by an angry mob after he was allegedly found slaughtering a suspected stolen animal.
According David Surwumwe, the LCI Chairperson of Muko Village in Nyarubuye Parish of Nyabwishenya Sub County, the deceased whose identities are yet to be known was beaten to death on Sunday night and his body was later burnt beyond recognition, after he was found slaughtering an animal suspected to have been stolen from Muko
Village.
The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate said yesterday that the deceased’s body was taken to Kisoro Hospital mortuary for postmortem and asked the public to desist from mob justice but instead
hand over the suspects to police for prosecution.
