Bishop Rubaramira Inaugurates St. Francis as 42nd Parish in Kabale Diocese

The Bishop of Kabale Diocese, the Rt Rev Callistus Rubaramira, has today inaugurated St Francis Catholic Parish in Kyanamira Sub County, Kabale District, as the 42nd Parish in Kabale Diocese.

St Francis Catholic Parish, which has been a Catholic Centre, was curved from Rushoroza Cathedral Parish. It will be led by Rev Fr Charles Nikiema from Burkina Faso as the Parish Priest, assisted by Rev Fr Balthazard Grace Buhalagarha from the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Rev Fr Armel Somda from Burkina Faso, as Curates. They are all members of the Missionaries of Africa.

Presiding over the inauguration mass at Kyanamira playground, Bishop Rubaramira asked Christians to be servants of God, without getting tired and avoid being distracted by any Worldly pressures.

The new Parish Priest Fr Nikiema, said that he will ensure that the parish becomes a house of prayer, peace, reconciliation, joy and where the word of God is celebrated.

The Ndorwa East MP, Wilfred Niwagaba, expressed optimism that the new parish will help address challenges such as poverty, low education levels, drunkenness, and low agricultural productivity, among others.
