Kabale district senior engineer interdicted.
The Kabale District Senior Civil Engineer Levi Turyahikayo Kansiime has been interdicted over alleged failure to account for 5.4 million shillings allocated for the rehabilitation of the Kabira-Kyabasho-Nyakasharara road in Kaharo Sub-county.
The money was approved by the district council and released during the 2023/2024 financial year, but the road works were reportedly not completed. In an interdiction letter dated August 10th and signed by the District Chief Administrative Officer Robert Mugabe, Kansiime is accused of failing to account for the funds despite their full release.
The alleged misconduct reportedly caused financial loss and left the road works incomplete. Kansiime has been ordered to step aside and hand over government property pending investigations. When contacted, the District Chief Administrative Officer declined to comment on the matter.
However, Resident District Commissioner Maj. Godfrey Katamba and District LCV Chairperson Denis Nzeirwe Ndyomugyenyi confirmed they had received information about the interdiction, although they had not seen the letter.
Meanwhile Kansiime said he saw the interdiction letter on social media but had not received the official copy.
