66 motorcycles and six vehicles impounded for violating the presidential directives
The Kigezi region Police spokesperson, Elly Maate, has said 66 motorcycles and six vehicles were over the weekend impounded in the districts of Kanungu, Kisoro and Rukungiri, for violating the presidential measures aimed at combating the spread of Covid-19.
Maate told our reporter last evening that 45 motorcycles were impounded in Kanungu district, while 14 motorcycles and six vehicles were impounded in Rukungiri district and seven motorcycles in Kisoro district. He added that owners of some of the motorcycles were found operating during curfew time, while others were found carrying passengers. Maate also said that owners of the impounded vehicles were found driving without authorization letters Resident District Commissioners.
