Commissioner of Parliament Prossy Akampurira lashes at the public who accuse her over receiving 400 million shillings.
The Commissioner of Parliament, Prossy Akampurira Mbabazi, has lashed out at members of public who accuse her of receiving 400 Million Shillings as “service award”, saying that she received the money legally since it was passed by Parliament.
Akampurira, who is also the Rubanda District Woman MP and other two NRM Parliamentary Commissioners and the former Leader of Opposition Mathias Mpuuga have come under scrutiny after they shared 1.7 Billion Shillings service award. Others Commissioners are the Zombo Woman MP Esther Afoyochan and the Bukooli Central MP Solomon Silwanyi.
Some MPs are currently collecting signatures to try and censure the four Commissioners, who allegedly illegally shared the so-called “service award.”
Addressing his constituents at Kashaaha Trading Center in Rubanda District and Christians of St Philip’s Bugongi Estates Church of Uganda, during the installation of their Parish Priest, Rev Edward Mwesigwa yesterday, Akampurira, noted that she used part of the money to start the project dubbed “Prosperous Women Rubanda” (PWR) in Rubanda District, which she said will support each of the 461 village women groups with 300,000 Shillings as seed capital.
