Bufumbira North MP involved in ballot stuffing.
Police have said they are hunting for the Bufumbira North County MP, John Ninzeyimana Kamara, for alleged ballot stuffing during today’s Kisoro District Woman Parliamentary by-election.
It is alleged that Kamara, accompanied by men suspected to be his security escorts, confiscated ballot books and ticked them in favor of the ruling NRM candidate Rose Kabagyeni, before he was apprehended by police. The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate, said Kamara, however later took off, prompting a police chase and manhunt.

Efforts by our reporter to get a comment from Kamara were futile, as his known phone numbers were switched off by press time. Six candidates, are seeking to replace former Kisoro Woman MP Sarah Nyirabashitsi Mateke, who died in September this year.
