Parents urged to keep kids close this holiday season

Parents have been advised to keep their children close during the upcoming holiday season, rather than sending them to relatives or other caregivers.

The call was yesterday made by the Rukiga Town Council Clerk and Kabale Muslim District Council Deputy Chairperson, Hassan Kabwoma Rwamango, while presiding over the awarding of certificates to 63 kindergarten finalists at New Chapter Foundation Nursery and Primary School in Rubanda Town Council of Rubanda District.

According to the 2025 school calendar released this week by the education ministry, schools will begin First Term on February 3rd 2025. This academic year ends on December 6th. Rwamango noted that spending time with children not only improves their safety, but also enables parents to teach them life skills. He also emphasized the importance of parents taking direct responsibility for their children’s well-being and ensuring their safety and development.
