Outcry Forces Action for rehabilitation works on Rwenkorongo-Kyevu Road.
Authorities in Kabale District, have commenced the rehabilitation of the 30.3-kilometer Rwenkorongo-Kyevu Road in Kahungye Sub County, following an outcry by local leaders, residents and road users, over the road’s poor state.
On Tuesday this week, Voice of Kigezi aired a story, in which the concerned residents and road users explained that the poor state of the road, was hindering the transportation of goods and access to communal services.
However, the Kahungye Sub-County LCV Councilor, Champion Baker Turyamureeba, today told our reporter that rehabilitation works on the road, started yesterday in Rwenkorongo Village!
The Kabale District Engineer, Januario Bagamuhunda, said 110 million Shillings, has been allocated for the rehabilitation works.
