Kabale Technical Institute secures 11.2 billion for face lift.
The Government through the Ministry of Education and Sports yesterday commissioned the construction of structures worth 11.2 Billion Shillings at Kabale Technical Institute-KTI in Rutooma Cell of Central Division in Kabale Municipality.
The contract was awarded to Ambitious Construction Company
Limited and is expected to complete the works in the next 15 months.
The scope of works include, construction of administrative complex, students accommodation and staff houses, paved walkways, workshops, fencing the facility, landscaping and planting of trees.
Others are extending power to the institute, constructing a borehole and equipping structures with furniture and books among others. of However, the Kabale Resident District Commissioner; Godfrey Nyakahuma, the Kabale Municipal Council Mayor; Emmanuel Sentaro and KTI Chairperson of Board of Governors; Eudia Mutabazi were shocked to learn that a kitchen and a multipurpose hall were not included in the construction plan yet they were part of the contract.
In response, the Assistant Commissioner in charge of Construction Management at the Ministry of Education; Asaph Abenaitwe said the leaders concerns will be addressed since they signed a contract.
Abenaitwe also warned community members against the theft of the construction equipment and materials which said delays the project.
