Technical and Political Leaders Meet on Kabale’s City Ambitions

Technical and political leaders in Kabale District are today set to hold a high level consultative meeting, to brainstorm the District’s preparations and readiness for it to be elevated to a city next year, a reliable source has revealed.

The source, who preferred anonymity told our reporter that the meeting which was summoned by the Chief Administrative Officer, John Asiimwe will among others discuss boundaries of the city.

When contacted, the Kabale Municipality Mayor; Emmanuel Sentaro confirmed the meeting but said he was not yet privy of key issues on the agenda. Our reporter’s effort to get a comment from Asiimwe was futile as he could neither pick nor return his repeated calls.

The state Minister for Finance in Charge of General Duties; Henry Musasizi has repeatedly said the remaining proposed new cities of Kabale, Nakasongora, Moroto, Wakiso and Entebbe will not be operationalized due to financial constraints. However, the Minister for Finance Matia Kasaija last month confirmed that they will be operational effective 1st July, 2025.
