State House Replaces Bushenyi RDC After Controversy
The Office of the President has posted Emmy Ngabirano to Bushenyi District to replace the embattled Resident District Commissioner Robert Atuhairwe.
Ngabirano has been Masindi RDC for three years. Atuhairwe was suspended following allegations that he bullied his way into Bweranyangi Girls Senior Secondary School in Bushenyi district on September 27, 2024 to deliver birthday gifts to his S.3 lover.
The incident forced concerned parents and stakeholders to complain to State House about Atuhairwe’s alleged conduct. In a letter dated October 15, signed by the Office of the President, Atuhairwe was directed to step aside as RDC and hand over office to his deputy; Katsigazi Donanto while investigations are conducted.
Handing over to Ngabirano yesterday, Kasigazi commended the Office of the President for trusting him with the office, and said Ngabirano’s expertise and passion for serving the country will propel the district to achieving remarkable success. Ngabirano expressed readiness to work together with the district leadership to ensure the effective implementation of government projects in the district.
