Prominent Rukiga Businesswoman Found Dead in Ntungamo; Police Investigate

Police have launched investigations after a 35-year old prominent businesswoman who went missing from Muhanga Town Council in Rukiga District earlier this week was found dead in Rubare Town Council, Ntungamo District.

Evelyn Shamillah Kanshabomwe, a resident of Rwabahanze Cell, Muhanga Ward in Muhanga Town Council, disappeared on Monday after unknown individuals abducted her from Stabex Fuel Station in Muhanga Town Council, located along the Kabale-Mbarara Highway.

She was picked up just a few metres from her business premises, Kyarenga Pub and Accommodation.

The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate, confirmed the incident saying Kanshabomwe’s body was taken to Itojo Hospital in Ntungamo District for postmortem. Maate added that they are hunting for Kanshabomwe’s boyfriend only identified as Brian, who reportedly invited her out for a drink.
